• Events and networks – to explore latest policy and share best practice, both from the public and private sectors
• Talent – through mentoring, secondments, non-executive appointments and charity trustee roles
• Leadership Programmes – for future leaders, high potential managers and senior directors
The client delivers over 150 events per year including breakfast briefings, workshops looking after a wide range of business & government topics, due to continued expansion with the events team a new role has arisen for an Event producer to focus on initiating & creating content for both free & paid-for events.
Duties & Responsibilities…
Event Content Generation
• Managing the design and delivery of events for a minimum of 5 networks (e.g. EU & International, Energy & Climate Change, Political & Economic)
• Managing a portfolio of paid-for workshops
• Produce two, 1-day conferences
• Generate new ideas, conduct research, manage external relationships
• Develop relevant and topical event programmes
• Secure and liaise with high-level speakers
• Ensure relevant attendees are identified and targeted
• Monitor relevant external events to ensure the client events are cutting-edge, including networking with external contacts and potential speakers
• Contribute new ideas to overall event portfolio to enhance overall member satisfaction and retention
Event delivery
• In addition to content creation, the Event Producer will be responsible for managing the delivery of their paid-for events with the support of the Events Assistant
• Liaise with speakers and facilitators ensuring they are fully briefed
• Liaise with venues/hosts regarding logistical aspects
• Manage all financial aspects including budget spreadsheets and invoicing process for paid- for events
• Marketing – Write Event Copy
• Relationship Management – the Event Producer will manage the relationship of 5-10 members, building on existing relationships and developing in-depth knowledge of the organisations to ensure their continued/increased engagement with the client.
Essential Skills & Expertise Required
• Previous event content development and event management experience of a min. of 3 years is essential
• Experience of developing and delivering conferences and/or workshops
• Interest in/knowledge of government policy which impacts business
• Excellent research and investigation skills with ability to demonstrate editorial independence
• Ability to generate quality content and original ideas
• Good copy writing skills
• Ability to develop/manage relationships with senior level executives
• Ability to work to strict deadlines under pressure
• Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
• Flexibility – need for an ‘all hands to the pump’ attitude during particularly busy periods
